Brad inspired me to sit down and share a few projects I've been listening to lately. So, without further ado:

  • "Remedy" by David Crowder*Band – To me, probably the best worship album of the last year. The live show at Cain's in Tulsa was amazing and I can't wait for the DVD they're producing.
  • "Vintage Stages Live" by Pat McGee Band – Pat brings back many Virginia memories. The band played at my senior prom and I've followed them ever since.
  • Untitled debut by Marty McGeheeAndy Chrisman slipped me this one under the door. It's the debut project from one of the guys from 4Him. The CCM industry is going to flip when they hear this. It's modern/prog rock that evokes tons of sentimentality and deep thoughts Eat your heart out, Mark Harris. This guys should've been writing for 4Him.
  • "Opposite Way" by Leeland – These guys have yet to release anything less than superb. Can't wait for the world to hear it. It kills me that these guys are opening for Casting Crowns. Should be the "opposite"…OK, that was cheesey!
  • "Beautiful Name" by Church On The Move worship team – This is also another project that will likely slip under the CCM industry radar. Andy and his team are creating original music that rivals Passion and Hillsong.
  • "Mockingbird" by Derek Webb – For some reason, I keep coming back to this. I think with MLK Day a couple weeks back, I returned to it. Peace, compassion, and consistency…all from God and what I'm reminded of the most when I listen.
  • "Live At Piedmont Park" by Dave Matthews Band – The latest of DMB's live releases. I'm a sucker…

One Response to Music I’m Listening To Right Now

Remedy…awesome CD. Of course, anything Crowder does is amazing.

Can’t wait to hear Opposite Way. I love Leeland.

Mockingbird…great CD. I love Derek Webb’s lyrics. Very thoughtfully written and sometimes controversial (which is fine by me)

Dave Matthews…not a huge fan although I love the music video for “Eh Hee”…brilliantly weird and beautiful.
