Apologies On The Lack Of Postings

My apologies for not posting more this week. When we settle in California, a recap of the week's events will definitely happen.

Good Morning from Amarillo, TX

Pray For Avery

Avery Nicole Mieir was born at 8:40am on Sunday ... about 15-16 weeks early. She weighs 1lb 6oz. She's fighting for her life. The doctor's are giving her a 50/50 chance of surviving. Please pray for Avery.

Avery is my niece. Linny's brother and sister-in-law are her parents, Matt and Lisa. Linny spent most of Sunday with them but I was able to go and visit for about a 45 minutes in the evening.

The hospital has a closed-circuit feed of Avery in the NICU fed to Lisa's hospital room ... which you can see below. It was heartwrenching to see how Lisa couldn't take her eyes off that screen. When she would speak of the experience, she could hold her emotions together. But when she spoke of her chances and long and far Avery has to go, she'd just about lose it. There was nothing I could do but to sit and listen.

I hugged Caedmon a little tighter than normal when I got back to Linny's parents' home.

Please pray for Avery. Pray for life and health. Please pray for Matt and Lisa. Pray for strength and comfort. Please pray.

A Snippet of My Twitter Philosophy

My stomach flips in excitement when ever I learn a pretty influential blogger or rockstar begin following me on Twitter. And then I learn they are following every Twitter user who is following them. So then it doesn't seem so special. (Please don't get me wrong! I love these folks and what they have to share.)



The cool thing is there are blogstars and rockstars out there who don't follow everyone who follows them ... and when those blogstars and rockstars follow me, it makes me feel all that much more special ... like I have a direct connection to them different from anyone else who follows them.

What is your Twitter philosophy?

Caedmon's bib says it all. I miss him this week.

Best In Show

This is Stump. He's a 10-year-old Sussex Spaniel. He won "Best In Show" at this year's Westminster Dog Show. He's the oldest dog ever to win the top prize ... by two years.



Whenever Wesminster crowns a new Best In Show champion, the winning dog goes on a media tour and I'm reminded of a piece of American cinema that his classic, Christopher Guest's "Best In Show." Don't tell me you don't think this movie is funny.

Roll Over & Scoot

Caedmon is in Tulsa this week with his Oma and Grandpa Bob so Linny and I can concentrate on packing our belongings. Not only are we getting a lot done but it's giving Linny's parents some quality time with Caedmon before the big move.

I got an email from Bob this morning ... the subject line Roll Over and Scoot. This is what Bob wrote:

"At 0822 baby rolled over. Then a few minutes later he completed an official 7 inch scoot on his belly. Then he fell asleep."

This is the longest period of time we've been away from Caedmon since he was born in October.

As your baby grew, were there any moments you missed that you wish you could go back and witness?

James Harrison on SNL Weekend Update

Next to the "I'm On A Boat" music video, Keenan Thompson playing Steelers linebacker James Harrison on Weekend Update was the funniest moment of SNL this past weekend ... which wasn't a great episode to begin with.

My brother, Scott, who is a huge Steelers fan, will find this pretty funny!
